Community Climate Leaders Program
Join the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership’s Community Climate Leaders program to take action, prepare your community and connect with motivated peers committed to resilience and thriving futures together.
This eight-week program includes:
- Five online modules covering climate change basics, what climate change looks like in Minnesota, accessible climate actions you can take, how to amplify your impact by working in community, how to integrate climate justice and leadership skills
- Four in-person sessions including group discussions, climate communication and story telling and community mapping
- A stepping stone project to make plans for taking climate action in your community
- A copy of The Climate Action Handbook by Dr. Heidi Roop with other program materials
Christy Marsden
Instructor
Christy Marsden works with the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership (MCAP), which aims to help Minnesotans feel empowered to take climate action in their communities with an adaptation focus. Prior to working with MCAP, Christy built and managed educational programs for the University of Minnesota Master Gardener Program, including the Horticulture Core Course training and Climate-Ready Gardens course. Originally from California, Christy earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and a Masters of Science in Horticulture and Agronomy with a focus on horticulture application from the University of California, Davis.
