Getting Comfortable Supporting Grievers

Even with good intentions, supporting a grieving loved one is hard. Explore simple, effective ways to feel more confident and offer meaningful comfort during their time of loss.


This class is intended for friends, family or community members who want to learn how to support children, young adults or adults who have experienced the death of a loved one.  

This workshop will:

  • Provide an understanding of what grief is and how it manifests
  • Introduce meaningful steps for supporting someone who is grieving
  • Inform as to what to say and what to avoid, and suggest truly helpful actions

Jonathan is a retired shopper marketing expert with considerable experience presenting to large groups. Most relevant to this, he has over 12 years experience as a volunteer facilitator for peer-to-peer grief support groups, first with Good Grief in NJ and, more recently, with Brighter Days here in MN. In addition, he is a trained presenter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's Talk Saves Lives presentation.
