Completion may qualify you for an insurance discount. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate you can then share with your insurance provider to receive a discount. To ensure that you will receive your certificate at the end of class, register one week before the class date. Boulder Pointe Equestrian - Horse Day CampOutdoor RecreationLearn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40-50 minutes (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn and walk on your own. Other activities may include making horse treats, doing crafts, and playing games. You’ll also learn how to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age. Ideal for both new and experienced riders! Parent drop-off is at 9:00 AM, with pick-up at 3:00 PM. Please note that parents are not allowed to stay for the day. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of the barn. ● No flip flops. ● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray ● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch ● Treats for the horses if you want ● Helmets are provided. No dogs on the first night of class. The first class is for the human end of the leash only. Your dog must be up-to-date on both Rabies and Distemper Combo (if under 6 months, bring in updates as they are obtained). Bordetella is not required, though strongly recommended. My Little Horse CampOutdoor RecreationCampers will have the opportunity to ride a horse in an arena, meet various horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom them—all with an emphasis on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are divided into 15-minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents can lead their children on the horse and take photographs as they go. PARENT/GUARDIAN: This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation.
