Minnetonka High School Fencing
Learn new skills, basic techniques and train to compete! Explore all three Fencing Weapons: Epee, Sabre & Foil. Emphasizing blade work, footwork and balance. Open to all levels of experience!
All materials are provided for this program. Each practice will begin with a warm up move into drills and finish with open bouting.
*Optional competitions may be available at an additional cost to the participant. Competitions are around $50 each and students must compete in 2 competitions to qualify for the State Tournament. Sixth Graders cannot compete in the competitions.
Coached by Maria Benford and Minnetonka Sword Play: Trained in Cuba for the Olympic team. Current head coach of Southwest Christian High School, a former head coach at St. Catherine College and St. Mary's High School.
