Little Shooters BasketballBasketballLearn beginner-level concepts through age-appropriate cooperative play and fundamental basketball. Focus on footwork, triple-threat position, ball handling, shooting form, passing, defense and basic game rules. Communication is essential, so you will also learn how to work with others in small group games. Tonka Summer Basketball LeagueBasketballForm a team with your friends and compete in the Tonka Summer Basketball League! All games will take place at Minnetonka High School and will include professional referees. Game nights will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting as early as 6:00 pm. The last day of the league will feature a tournament. Players will receive a reversible jersey. At the time of registration, students should include all friend requests to better allow MCE to match players up with one another. Teams will receive their schedule on Friday, July 17.Summer 2026 -
Elementary 3-on-3 Basketball LeagueBasketballForm a team of 4-6 friends and compete in a 3-on-3 basketball league at Minnetonka High School! Weekly games are on Tuesday evenings, with referees and varying game times. Teams will play two 15-minute games each week. Game nights will be Tuesday evenings and game times will vary each week. Referees will be at each game. Both the Boys and Girls Elementary League are for students going into 3rd, 4th or 5th grade. Players will have to provide their own shirts for their team. Please bring a light-colored shirt and a dark-colored shirt each week (or a reversible jersey). At the time of registration, students should include their appropriate Team Name as well as the coach for the team. One coach must be on-site at all times while their team is playing and must complete a background check and Concussion Training provided by MCE. You will have the option during registration to list your desired friend requests. If you do not have a team but would like to participate, please call 952-401-6800. In addition to 3v3 and 5v5 games, you will test you skills in dribbling, passing, shooting, and individual defensive drills, followed by small-sided games of 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 before 5v5 games daily. 3-on-3 Hoops Skills Spring LeagueBasketballThis 3-on-3 basketball league offers supplemental skill development through individual training and competitive 3-on-3 games. 3-on-3 basketball provides more action and repetitions for each player while building important basketball skills. Typical evenings will consist of 60 minutes of skill development and 60 minutes of gameplay. The first session will involve evaluations through skills competitions to create balanced teams, which may be adjusted throughout the program. Each player will receive the ongoing results of their evaluation. A tournament will be held during the final session if there are enough participants. Multi-Sport & GamesYouth RecreationDive into skills training in soccer, basketball and flag football! Learn and practice key skills, enjoy daily games like dodgeball and kickball and showcase your abilities in final-day scrimmages. Athletes will spend roughly 1.5 hours learning and practicing each sport per day. Key sports skills will be taught and practiced in all 3 sports including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and more! Camp ends with games/scrimmages on the final day for each sport. Athletes should wear sunscreen, bring a water bottle, lunch, two snacks, and athletic shoes and clothing. This class has two sections based on grade. If minimum enrollment isn’t met, sections may be combined.Summer 2026
